A UK supplied, right-hand drive example that was specified new with the following optional extras: sunroof, electric windows, sports seats, driver and passenger headrests, 6×15 alloy wheels, impact absorbers, front and rear stabilisers, chrome trim on wheel housings, tinted glass and rear wiper.
In 1972, Porsche altered the model’s mechanical layout to improve its handling, which included moving the oil tank inside the wheelbase, rather than over or even behind the rear axle, already a heavy end on a 911. This resulted in placing the oil filler behind an external flap on the rear offside wing. Inattentive new owners would therefore sometimes confuse this filler for a fuel door, and pour petrol into their engines. Porsche soon became aware of the issue and removed the outside ‘ölklappe’, meaning 1972 is the only year of 911 to possess this feature, today making it all the more collectible.
First registered in August 1972 and presented exceptionally well throughout following very little use since its restoration in the late 1990s.
Complete with its tool roll and extensive history file which includes its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This desirable early Porsche 911 represents fantastic value for money and is a great Classic Porsche to enjoy some motoring miles in.
