#0704 TR is not just one of the twenty-two 250 Testa Rossas ever produced, it’s arguably the greatest and most important surviving car on the planet.
The second prototype, an ex-works car that was driven by the likes of Phil Hill, Peter Collins, Mike Hawthorn, Olivier Gendebien, Maurice Trintignant, Masten Gregory, Wolfgang Seidel and Richie Ginther. With overall victories at the 12 hours of Sebring and Buenos Aires, plus a 2nd place finish at the Nürburgring 1000kms, a 4th place finish at the Targa Florio it was a two-time Le Mans 24 Hour entrant where it set the fastest lap in 1958 plus at least another 20 first place finishes in period.
The car was donated to The Henry Ford museum in 1967 where it would reside for over 30 years and has most recently been owned by some of Europe’s most discerning collectors.
Shown by ourselves at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2014 where it was awarded the FIVA Postwar Trophy, the Revs Programme at Stanford Award, the Road & Track Trophy, as well as a 250 Testa Rossa Class award, which had a spectacular array of examples of the model for the judges to choose from.
The only unrestored 250 Testa Rossa and incredibly still retains its original chassis, body, engine and gearbox and has never sustained any accidents of any real consequence.
