Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary Concours D’Elegance

1947-2017 The Ferrari Legacy – 70 Years of Excellence

Ferrari’s 70th anniversary celebrations started in its home town of Maranello in Emilia-Romagna, just south of Modena. Few sports car manufacturers have as rich a history or followers as passionate, as Ferrari so it’s hardly a surprise that events have been held all around the world in celebration.

When Tom was invited to attend Ferrari’s home-town 70th Anniversary Celebration this September he was more than honoured to say the least. What an event both physically and spiritually, it’s not every year you get an invite to attend something like this and Tom was cordially invited, amazing.

It was in 1947 that Enzo Ferrari stamped his way with eponymous marque into the world of ‘the’ established maker of racing cars and his legacy continues to astound us all globally.

The Fiorano race track was deemed was the perfect location to enhance the climax of a remembrance event that featured an incredible gathering of cars spanning over seven decades!

The celebration comprised of a series of spectaculars starting with Sotherby’s Auction of Ferrari collections and paraphernalia. After the evening’s event Tom was surrounded with cars bearing the Prancing Horse logo brought in especially from around the world – many arriving as part of a series of rallies and many he already knew, had purchased or sold in the past so it was familiar ground for him with.

Tom felt privileged to have been personally invited to spend the weekend representing one of our old, most reputed girls, a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spyder  that was invited to attend the Concours of Elegance entering in the ‘California Spyder Class’.
