Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2012, the Grand Sport Vitesse was premiered as the fastest and most powerful production roadster in the world, at that time completing Bugatti’s Veyron range.

Inspired by the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, it came as no surprise that Bugatti fittingly called it ‘Vitesse’, the French word for ‘speed.’ Its 8.0-litre W16 engine delivers 1,200 bhp, achieving 0-60 mph in 2.6 seconds and enabling the Vitesse to hit a top speed of 255 mph. On the record-setting drive, performed by Chinese businessman and race car driver Anthony Liu in 2013, its top speed ability with the Targa off, crowned the car the fastest open-top production sports car of its time – cementing its unique status in the automotive world.

Numerous changes were made to the front and rear of the Grand Sport Vitesse to enhance its aerodynamics. Unlike the Grand Sport, the Vitesse’s exterior is entirely made of carbon fibre. It possesses larger air vents at the front, while the rear includes a double diffuser and central dual exhaust, similar to the Super Sport. Its roof spoiler is also truly distinctive.

Bugatti demonstrated that it was possible to create a roadster version of a supercar with unrivalled performance that was, and still remains to this day, incredibly fast and dynamic, but also extremely luxurious and safe to drive.

Chassis 46 is one of only 92 examples ever made worldwide and one of only 450 Veyrons produced in total.

It benefits from the very striking colour combination of blue/black exposed carbon with a Tangerine leather interior, an option that cost new over €375,000. In addition to its bespoke exterior finish, this car was specified with anodised blue brake callipers, a powder-coated engine cover, black nanocoated magnesium components and quilted seats.

Originally ordered new from the factory by the official Bugatti Japanese dealer in 2014, the original intention was for the car to reside with a Japanese collector, however, for personal reasons the collector was unable to maintain his purchase. It was never driven or registered in Japan, and no sooner than it arriving in the Land of the Rising Sun, it was delivered straight to the United Kingdom to fulfil another long-awaited purchase commitment.

From its history file, we can see that it also benefits from an excellent service history, with all services carried out by Bugatti London;
