The XK140 model was first launched in 1954, superseding the previous XK120 model and had the added benefit of greater interior space, improved brakes, rack and pinion steering and more modern suspension. It featured a plush leather and walnut filled interior, offering a more comfort-oriented drive.
Chassis 807374 is a right-hand drive, UK supplied XK140 Drophead Coupé, of which only 479 were produced. It importantly still retains its original chassis and original engine block, as confirmed by its Jaguar Heritage certificate and is fitted with desirable overdrive.
The car benefits from an earlier, extremely thorough, body-off, bare metal restoration by marque specialists which still presents extremely well throughout. Invoices and photographs detailing the full restoration accompany the car today in its very well-documented history files. Comprehensive mechanical works were completed in March 2021 and the car has only covered 496 miles since that time. A fresh service will be carried out prior to handover.
Presented today in fantastic condition throughout and complete with two large history files, a spare wheel and tool kit.
