The 512 BBi was first launched at the Frankfurt Salon in 1981 and was the final variant of the Berlinetta Boxer model, with the “i” standing for iniezione, Italian for injection. The BBi saw upgrades to the styling with a redesigned front and rear bumper, engine louvre arrangements and wing mirrors. The engine too had been upgraded to a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, offering increased reliability and a better balance of drivability and performance.

Chassis no. 041825 that we present here, was originally supplied through Garage Francorchamps S.A. of Belgium in May 1982. Much of its early life is unknown, however in recent years the car has been meticulously maintained and prepared by marque specialists Bob Houghton Ltd, with over £70,000 being spent with them between 2014 – 2018, since which time the car has covered less than 200 miles. In 2018 it was also awarded its Ferrari ‘Red Book’ Classiche certification that confirms the car still retains its original chassis, body, engine and gearbox.

Until recently the car has resided with a very prominent, well respected UK based collector and presents extremely well throughout. It comes complete with an original 512 BBi pouch, handbook, original factory sales brochure, tool roll and history file.
