Recognised as “the ultimate 924”, the Porsche 924 Carrera GT is a rare homologation special that was conceived for the FISA Group 4 competition requirements. Revising the engine from the Turbo, the 924 Carrera GT boasts an impressive 210bhp and incorporates heavily upgraded suspension, lightened body panels and upgraded brakes.
Our 924 Carrera GT is just 1 of only 75 right-hand examples ever produced and believed to be one of the lowest mileage cars in existence. Supplied new via official Porsche dealer, Ian Anthony Sales (Knutsford) Ltd on the 8th August 1981, our car was commissioned with an extensive list of factory options that include; sunroof, sports steering wheel, electric windows, electric driver’s door mirror, heated & adjustable passenger door mirror, Panasonic stereo, electric aerial, Fuchs forged alloy wheels (911 type), sports shock absorbers, rear window wiper and headlamp washers.
The car was acquired by its previous owner, a prominent Porsche collector on the 31st August 1993 via AFN Ltd, London with just 1,500 miles on the clock. He used the car sparingly which is evident from its current low mileage and has remained in his highly regarded collection until now.
Recently recommissioned with works that that included; new brake discs, callipers and brake hoses, new Pirelli P7 N4 tyres, new Bilstein rear shock absorbers, the rear silencer replaced, the fuel tank was removed and cleaned, Bosch accumulator valve & fuel level sensor replaced, timing belt, pulley and wiper blades replaced plus the oil, air and fuel filters. All of the parts removed during the works still accompany the car.
The car is still complete with its original Porsche handbook pouch, service/warranty supplement, driver’s manual, service centre handbook, original spare keys and a well-documented history file.
A very special example of a car that has gone relatively unnoticed for too long.
