Announced in January 1964 and made its public debut at the Brussels Salon later that month, the 330 GT 2+2 was a favourite of the Commendatore Enzo Ferrari himself and was the replacement for the 250 GTE which had been Ferrariās first production model to offer a four-seat cockpit arrangement.
Two versions were produced between 1964 and 1967, the initial model which featured a 4-speed gearbox with overdrive, 11-louvre front wing vents plus a twin headlamp design and a later model which featured a much superior 5-speed gearbox, 3-louvre front wing vents and a much prettier front-end design with single headlamp configuration. Today these models are referred to as āSeries I and Series IIā cars.
The car we present here, is the much more sought-after Series II variant. Itās one of only 35 UK supplied, right-hand drive examples and is presented in its stunning original colour combination of Blu Chiaro metallizzato over a beige leather interior. Delivered new in May 1966 to a Mr C.E. Marshall of Tettenhall, Wolverhampton and fitted with factory fitted electric windows.
In recent years itās been beautifully restored throughout and in 2018 was awarded Gold at the Ferrari Owners Club International Concours, a great achievement when you consider the car had been driven regularly following completion of its restoration.
The car still boasts its āmatching numberā status and comes complete with a reproduction tool roll, jack and fantastic history file which includes a large quantity of period correspondence.
