This beautiful left-hand drive example is the 38th RS produced, and therefore, one of the first 500s built to ‘RSH’ specifications, which means it’s constructed of a lighter gauge steel (the same as the 2.7 RS ‘Lightweight’) to meet FIA homologation requirements. After having been driven to Stuttgart for weighing, it was driven back to the factory for completion as a ‘Touring’ (Porsche Code 472) version.
