The car that heavily contributed to John Surtees’ 1964 Formula One Championship win, when Lorenzo Bandini who was piloting it at the Mexican Grand Prix was asked to let Surtees through to clinch the Championship.
With its 2nd place finish at Monaco in 1965 with Bandini driving, it achieved the highest place finish of any of the 1512s.
Another podium finish was achieved by John Surtees at the 1965 British Grand Prix.
Retained by the factory until December 1974 at which time it was sold to Anthony Bamford and later being aquired by Albert Obrist before joining the Ecclestone Collection nearly three decades ago.
Fitted with the engine it raced eight of its eleven Formula One races with.
Recently awarded its Ferrari ‘Red Book’ Classiche certification.
