At Goodwood with Tom Hartley JNR

25th June 2015

The celebration of motor sport and motoring culture returned between 25-28 June 2015. The Goodwood Festival of Speed will played host to multiple vehicle debuts, motorsport and classic cars.

Taking centre stage at the West Sussex track once again this year as a stunning collection of the greatest thoroughbred racers gather to entertain the fans across four days at the historic famous hillclimb. Goodwood offers drivers and riders the chance to relax, unwind and share the moment with the enthusiasts that cheer them on every race and engage with their fans where they simply can’t mingle with them elsewhere.

Situated on the renowned exclusive Cartier Lawn, the concours d’elegance continues to be the definitive festivity of fine automotive design with no exceptions! The Cartier ‘Style et Luxe’ concours d’elegance boasted yet again an incredible display of exquisite automobiles across seven classes, our very special 212 Vignale Coupe was on display and received some fantastic feedback which we highly appreciated. This year the standard of entrants was even greater with select classes such as ‘Coach and Horses’, for ’50s and ’60s coach-built Ferraris, and ‘Sweeping Statements’, for Figoni et Falaschi-bodied cars of the ’20s and ’30s, the judges had the unpleasant choice of awarding ‘Best in Show’, which went to the voluptuous Talbot-Lago T150-C-S ‘Goutte d’Eau’, or ‘Talbot Teardrop’

When taking a moment aside from the Cartier class and glamour the Festival of Speed shared a mixed appearance of extreme horsepower lead by famous F1 racing drivers such as Nico Rosberg and Jenson Button, Valentino Rossi  ‘the doctor’ also made a special Goodwood House drive-thru on his Yamaha having just finished his roaring race win in the latest Dutch MotoGP round.

Simply put, everything you could dream of from pre-war cars to V8 F1’s of the previous generation, motorcycles both young and old to the latest supercars were unveiled by leading manufacturers.

As ever, an exceedingly good time seemed to be had by all, we simply love it!
