The SLR McLaren Roadster made its first official public appearance at the world-famous Festival of Speed at Goodwood, displayed in celebration of AMG’s 40 years. Only 520 examples were ever produced worldwide, of which there were only 25 UK supplied cars, including the car we present here.

Upon its launch the SLR McLaren Roadster was deemed by many as the world’s most exciting open car. It accelerates from 0-62 mph in just 3.8 seconds, and on to a top speed of 207 mph. Power comes from a handmade AMG 5.5-litre supercharged V8 engine which develops 617 bhp and 780 Nm of torque coupled to an AMG Speedshift five-speed automatic transmission.

The standard equipment included semi-aniline leather-upholstered carbon fibre bucket seats, dual-zone automatic air-conditioning, Bose premium sound system; a multifunction sport steering wheel with gear-change paddles, and a navigation system with integral radio and CD player. In addition to the standard specification, this particular car was specified with a host of factory optional extras which included; Crystal Palladium grey paint, 19” Turbine wheels, brake calipers in red, Silver Arrow leather, contrast stitching, XL driver’s seat, XL passenger seat, woven ‘composite’ leather on seat centres, SLR logo embossed into headrests, two-tone steering wheel, carbon interior effect trim in black, floor mats with contrasting leather piping in 2^nd colour, parking sensors, fire extinguisher and garage door opener.

This single owner from new example has impeccable service and maintenance history, with all services carried out by Mercedes-Benz Brooklands on the following dates:

14^th May 2009 – Annual Service carried out at 500 miles

14^th May 2010 – Annual Service carried out at 1,673 miles

26th May 2011 – Annual Service carried out at 2,076 miles
