This example, one of only 48 Super Sports ever produced, is a one owner car from new that’s been maintained throughout its life by the factory. A Super Sport is the most powerful iteration of a Veyron, with 1,200 BHP, a maximum torque of 1,500 Nm, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 415 km/h. The increased performance of the 16-cylinder engine is primarily due to the use of four larger turbochargers and intercoolers. In addition to the increase in performance, the supercar’s chassis was meticulously reworked to enable the unique driving power to be safely controlled. The main spring rates were slightly increased and the stabilisers were strengthened. All of this, combined with the newly developed dampers that had been adapted from motorsport models, perceptibly enabled more precise control of the wheels and the vehicle itself. In addition to the high lateral potential of up to 1.4 G, the optimised interaction between the tyres and the smart four-wheel-drive system creates perfect handling. A powerful torque of 1,500 Nm produces even higher acceleration values when coming out of a turn. All components of the drivetrain were extensively reinforced in order to safely transmit the immense forces.
