Set against the sensational back drop that is the historic Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance kicks off a week of some of the UK’s most exclusive garden parties and social occasions in the automotive calendar, attracting an eclectic mix of some of the most exotic and desirable brands, many of whom attend the event to debut their latest models.

For us, the event is a great opportunity to catch up with some of our clients and friends and for us to be able to showcase a small selection of our current stock on our stand and on occasion have some cars on display, as we had this year.

Like many events on this years’ calendar, Salon Privé celebrated Ferrari’s 75th anniversary, bringing together some of the outstanding examples to have left Maranello. The Concours hosted classes to cover all eras of cars, with arguably the most competitive and important of all being the ‘Competition Class’. We’re pleased to announce it was our 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB Competizione that took home the silverware, beating the likes of a 250 GTO to the class win.

Chassis no. 09041 was presented to the judges in nothing short of immaculate condition by our very own in-house expert, Emma Gales. Not only is Emma our 275 guru, but she’s quite the all-round classics aficionado too.

With silverware in our sights, we were delighted to also be awarded ‘Most Elegant’ for the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider by Scaglietti, a car that was entrusted to us by one of our best clients. We were also pleased to show the 1967 Ferrari 365 California Spyder by Pininfarina and the 1957 Ferrari 250 GT Spyder Competizione by Pinin Farina. Needless to say, we certainly gave our good friend and event host Max Girardo a lot to say!
